When Dreams and Reality Collide: A Haunting Trip to Pokhara
Sweet chantings and bells from the nearby temple in the morning always make my day special, calm, and relaxed. I am eagerly waiting for my first road trip with my friends tomorrow. We have planned to go for a visit to Pokhara from Kathmandu.(a part from the diary, previous day of the trip)
Tung!Tung!( Bell from the temple). I stood up in my bed and screamed with joy "Today I will have lots of fun, the delicious food, listen to funny jokes of my friends, enjoy all the fresh air and environment. Wow! I am so excited." Hearing this, my mother came smiling to me and gave me some snacks for the trip. I took all my dresses from the wardrobe and finally chose white short tops and black pants with a net outfit. I took my breakfast, carried my camera and my bag, and left the house for two days, waving goodbye to my mom, dad, and my sister. When I reached the school gate, I found that I was the last one as always. All my friends were waiting for me. My friend Shraddha and I took the second last seat so that we could accompany all our friends sitting in the last seat. We started our trip at 8:00 AM from Kathmandu.
Pokhara is one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal consisting of David falls, Fewa lake, beautiful sceneries of the mountains, Mahendra cave, bat cave, and many other beautiful places. I was feeling as if I was going to visit my dreamland. I noticed that going on a trip with friends is far more different than going with family. We sang lots of songs, ate lots of chocolates, sometimes even danced on the moving bus and enjoyed capturing all the moments on a camera. Some of my friends even experienced motion sickness, but I was unknown to it because I frequently travel long distances with my parents. After four hours of traveling, our bus stopped for lunch. My tummy was nearly full of snacks and chocolates that I had on the bus but when I saw organic, crispy, tiny fried golden brown fishes, I got hungry. We enjoyed varieties of organic food available there.
Something drastic happened there, I met my old best friend, Krisha, whom I had not met for over three years. Oh my god! I could not describe my happiness. We were in a hurry so I took her contact details and waved goodbye. After an hour, I reached my dreamland enjoying it with all my friends. I wished we could have gone far so that I could enjoy it a lot from this day on. I got out of my bus.
"Wow! such a beautiful place. " Machapucchhere and Dhaulagiri mountains were glaring at me from two sides. Pleasant weather was making it even more comfortable for me to gaze at all those beauties. With enjoyment and happiness, I tried to jump as high as I could.
Oh no! I fell off my bed."It hurts!" Surprisingly, I noticed that it was only a dream, a road trip, my old best friend, fun with friends and all the beauties. I regretted upon myself for getting up so fast. However, I realized that I am really going on a trip today. I promised myself saying that I will enjoy a lot more than that of my dream. I prepared myself for the trip wearing the same dress that I had worn on my dream. I went to my father to wave goodbye. He was watching television. I went to him. Before I could speak the news reporter said, " Today, morning, 15 years old girl named Krisha died in a car accident". I moved my eyes towards the television. The bitter truth, I had lost my friend Krisha💛, whom I had captured in my camera, on my own a few hours before in my dream.
