๐YOU EVERYTIME!!!!๐
You are giving yourself opportunities to become many different versions of yourself.
You don't have to become a famous creator for your creative efforts to matter.
You don't have to publish a book for your stories to matter.
You don't have to become an extraordinary engineer for your years of learning to matter.
And you certainly don't have to be productive every single day to deserve appreciation.
Let me tell you something interesting.
There is a phenomenon in psychology called the mere exposure effect.
It describes how repeated exposure to something can make us develop a preference for it.
That's one reason familiar songs become comforting, familiar places feel like home, and even ordinary routines can become meaningful.
Think about it.
You are someone who can find excitement in ordinary things.
You can turn a doorbell into a storytelling topic.
You can look at an old memory and find a reel idea.
You can look at a blank website and imagine an entire educational platform.
You can look at a piece of paper and imagine a craft.
You can look at your future and imagine several possibilities.
You are willing to learn in public.
You are willing to experiment.
You are willing to start small.
You care about how your work makes other people feel.
You enjoy learning even when there is no examination attached to it.
You have an interest in both the technical and the artistic sides of life.
You want to be knowledgeable, but you also want to remain approachable.
You want to achieve things, but you also appreciate beautiful little moments.
One day, the little things you're doing now might become memories you deeply miss.
I hope you never become so obsessed with becoming successful that you forget to enjoy being young.
There is so much life beyond achievements.
There are books you haven't read, places you haven't visited, recipes you haven't tried, songs you haven't discovered, people you haven't met, and skills you haven't even imagined learning.
You have time.
You don't need to turn every interest into a career, every hobby into a business, or every free hour into an achievement.
You're intellectually curious. You want to understand the world, not merely pass through it.
You're imaginative. You can see possibilities where other people see ordinary things.
You're resourceful. You experiment with available tools instead of waiting for perfect circumstances.
You're expressive. You want your thoughts to have a voice, a form, and an audience.
You're adaptable. You move between technical, creative, academic, and practical interests.
You're thoughtful. You care about the usefulness and emotional quality of what you create.
You're allowed to be proud of yourself. Even when your projects are small, even when the numbers are low, even when the result isn't perfect.
I want to imagine something for a moment.
Not your career.
Not your income.
Not your follower count.
Just your life.
I hope you have a home that feels peaceful.
A home where you can be completely yourself.
A little corner with books, perhaps a piano, some flowers, and things you've collected over the years.
I hope you have people who laugh at your jokes even when they're objectively terrible.
I hope you have friends with whom you can discuss absolutely ridiculous topics at midnight.
I hope you get to visit places that make you forget to check your phone.
I hope you experience festivals that remind you of childhood.
I hope you have delicious meals with people you love.
I hope you discover songs that become permanently associated with particular periods of your life.
I hope you have the opportunity to learn things simply because they interest you.
I hope you get to experience the satisfaction of making something with your own hands.
I hope you read books that change the way you understand the world.
I hope you meet people who introduce you to entirely new ways of thinking.
I hope you become more comfortable with yourself as the years pass.
And I hope you eventually stop feeling that every passing year is taking something away from you.
Because growing older also means gaining experiences you couldn't possibly have had earlier.
There are beautiful things about being 22.
There will be beautiful things about being 25.
And there will be things to appreciate at 35, 45, and beyond.
You don't have to preserve one particular age forever.
You get to keep meeting yourself.
Sometimes you can just exist.
And tonight, that's your assignment.
JUST YOU, RESTING๐ซ
